Large Garden Shed FAQs

A shed is considered large if its floor area exceeds 15 square metres (161 square feet). It is suitable for people who want to create an outdoor office, warehouse, or extra living space.

However, to comply with permitted development rights, any outbuilding, including sheds, must not occupy more than 50% of your garden area.

Large sheds can be used in a myriad of ways, allowing you to get creative.

  • Storage
  • Home office
  • Entertainment area
  • Outdoor eating area
  • Workshops
  • Recreational space

The possibilities are endless!

At Atlas Sheds, our large garden sheds vary in price, depending on the design, height, and layout.

Our large sheds start at £1,259 for simpler models, such as the 10x8 Classic Pent Shed, Door Gable Left, and go up to £23,999 for more advanced models, such as the 20x10 Garden Office.

We have a variety of options to choose from in our large wooden sheds, including:

  • Traditional apex sheds: With a traditional pitched roof, these sheds provide plenty of headroom and storage space.
  • Pent roof sheds: Perfect for mounting against walls or fences, they have a single-sloped roof and a contemporary appearance.
  • Workshop sheds: These sheds are ideal for workshops or large storage requirements. They are built with sturdy materials and have plenty of room.

Country cabins and summerhouses: These are perfect for adding a cosy touch to your garden for lounging or turning into a play area for the kids.

Adding a shed to your garden is covered by permitted development rights, meaning planning permission isn’t required.

However, you will need planning permission for the following reasons:

  • You wish to install a shed in your front garden.
  • The shed occupies more than 50% of the total area occupied by your property.
  • The total height of the shed exceeds 4 metres with a dual-pitched roof or 3 metres for any other roof.
  • The height of your shed exceeds 2.5 metres, and it’s located within 2 metres of the property's boundary.
  • The shed will be used for sleeping accommodation.

Yes, our large sheds can be assembled by hand by the customer. However, we recommend more than two people help to assemble the shed due to its size and the complexity of the installation.

We provide free expert installation services for individuals who would prefer a hassle-free experience. We guarantee that your shed will be built effectively and safely.
